In July, 2004 within the framework of celebrating of 100th Anniversary from birthday of pilot-tester Valeriy Chkalov on behalf of the President of Russian Federation, Federation of Amateur Aviators of Russia, Federation Airsports of Russia , ROSTO and International memorial fund “CHKALOV” carry out Tourist Aviarally Championship of Russia.(Direction of Government of Russian Federation ¹ 1563 of 29.10.03 on a commission from the President of Russian Federation ¹ 1421 of 29.07.03).

Legendary and sole in the world planes LI-2 and IL-14 restored by Federation of Amateur Aviators of Russia are the favorites of flight.
The participants of flight will make landings in 25 cities of the world following the route:

MOSCOW-ANCHORAGE-VANCOUVER-OSHKOSH-REYKJAVIK-ST.PETERSBURG-MOSCOW.

More than 30 persons take part in flight including journalists of many Russian and foreign mass media which observe this event.

One of the brightest events for flight teams will be participation of flight members in enchanting aviashow in Oshkosh “AirVenture Oshkosh 2004”.

The main goal of flight is to exhibit historical unique aircrafts from the early 20 th century in front of several hundreds of thousand persons.

“Aviamarket” participates in the flight with Robinson R44 Clipper helicopters.
